ICOM Museum Day: “Our City! Jewish Vienna – Then to Now”
To mark International Museum Day, with this year’s motto “Museums as Cultural Hubs – The Future of Living Traditions,” you will experience history and stories up close in the scope of an exciting tour through the permanent exhibition “Our City! Jewish Vienna – Then to Now.” Starting from the first Jewish museum founded in 1895 and selected objects from our predecessor institution, we will explore the question of how collection and exhibition approaches can be implemented differently. In between you will become active yourself. Using the tools of contemporary educational approaches, you can experience for yourself how the museum, its showcases and objects can turn into conversation partners and enable a dynamic interaction between the institution and all those who use it.
Participation in the tour is free for visitors with a valid exhibition ticket.
